  13. Symptom:      When the Notify init (available through NetWare for 
  14.               Macintosh v2.0) is installed and a LAN Works Dec VAX 
  15.               volume is mounted on the same Macintosh client, the VAX 
  16.               will receive errors. 
  17.  
  18. Problem:      This problem is caused when the Notify init mistakenly 
  19.               thinks the LAN Works mounted volume is a NetWare file 
  20.               server and tries to find out information from the server 
  21.               that the VAX doesn't understand.  The VAX reports an error 
  22.               in its system log.  This log can fill with errors in a day.  
  23.               The performance of the VAX should not be hindered though.

  25. Solution or 
  26. Work-around:  Ignore the errors in the VAX error log, or remove the Notify 
  27.               init from the System folder of the Macintosh client.  The 
  28.               new Notify init v2.1 will resolve this problem.  It is 
  29.               available with NetWare for Macintosh v3.0 or v2.2.
